Mastery of Attention

You might be wondering why the topic of "concentration" is appearing in a
newsletter about relaxation.
Some common images associated with concentration are a furrowed brow, tense muscles,
and strained effort not things normally associated with relaxation.
The truth is that the most effective methods of concentration dont involve effort
or straining. Your concentration is at its best when you get into the "flow
state."
This is a zone of optimal learning, calm intensity, and nearly effortless mastery in
all your endeavors. It happens at those times in your life when everything clicks. When
you skills match your challenges. When you feel most fully alive.
Usually this flow state seems to happen on its own, without effort or intention. But you
can take steps to create more favorable mental conditions that are more conducive to
this state, thus allowing you to access it more frequently.
